Budapestis one of my favorite cities, and I found Prague too crowded back in 2004. Both Budapest and Vienna have way more than enough to keep you occupied on a short trip.
Iwould reduce Prague by another day and add it to Vienna. Frankly, I'm biased because Vienna is my favorite city. These are the travel times between the four cities by train: Vienna - Salzburg --- 2:30 Vienna - Budapest --- 2:40 Vienna - Prague --- 4:30 Budapest - Prague --- 7:00 Salzburg - Prague --- 5:30 Salzburg, Vienna and Budapest
Im living in Prague for the moment, Budapest has been a couple of years, but I believe the costs of living are pretty similar. You can get a night for somewhere between 10-20 euros, depending on standards. Food is not that expensive, let's say 10 euros for a meal and beer is dirt cheap (1,40-2,00 for 0.5l, cocktails are around 3-4 euros).

Pragueis similar. I stayed at madhouse hostel and met people immediately. Also Prague is pretty cheap but Budapest was a lot cheaper than my expectations (you could get a great 3 course dinner with beer for like 6 euro) and the beer is like 50 cent and really good. So definately try out some of the many great resturants when you go!
Twoof its most prominent cities are Prague and Budapest, which are known for their grand architecture and beautiful scenery. While both cities are located in close proximity to each other, they each have their own unique language. In Prague, the official language is Czech. Czech is a Slavic language that is spoken by over 10 million
InPrague, Vienna and Budapest, you’ll enjoy expertly guided walking tours that explore these one-time capitals of the Habsburg Empire whose spires and castles create the continent’s most inspiring skylines. Out in the countryside, the sights are just as amazing. Powder-blue cathedrals leap up from the heart of valley towns.
