Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a singleplayer action RPG. With the recent release of bigger name titles such as Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, Final Fantasy XII-2 and even upcoming games like Mass Effect 3 it is easy to look over a less popular one such as this. That would be a huge mistake. How much you love Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning depends on what you look for in a role-playing game. Let's say you long for a pervasive sense of time and place, for a great story featuring Experiment, master, and switch it up when it comes to each build, which at times can effectively make Re-Reckoning feel like an entirely different game. From the lighting changes to the minor changes seen in fluidity and overall graphics, the Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning isn’t a massive overhaul because it really doesn’t need to be. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning was played on the original PS4 console, as I currently don’t own a PS4 Pro (although it’d be odd if the game was somehow optimized differently for the PS4 Pro). Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning starts deep into a war with the Tuatha (aka corrupted Winter Fae), led by Gadflow, and all mortals. It actually seems the Tuatha is starting to get the upper hand, as they have recently pushed further into Amalur’s lands that others thought they would have never reached. There's also the new Fatesworn DLC specific to Re-Reckoning, which is an anomaly: a new DLC for a ten-year-old remastered game. I've heard mixed reviews and it's not out on Switch yet. But I'll buy it anyway when it comes out, because they don't make games like this anymore. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is an artifact of days gone by. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (PS3) – déjà vu comes as standard. You only need a little experience with video games to guess, merely from its name, that this is a fantasy-themed role-playing game. KoA: Re-Reckoning is nothing but mere updates added to the original and making it playable on PS4 and Xbox One. That’s it. This trailer of theirs was very misleading. It implied that this game was going to be modernized and have graphic improvements like almost realistic graphics. Possibly even new BIG things added. While some of the more recent remakes, such as Spongebob Squarepants and Destroy all Humans! were rebuilt largely from scratch, played alongside their original audio and gameplay, THQ Nordic’s latest with Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning just barely enhances the original and feels rather shallow in its remastering. 49uc.
