I have trawled these forums regarding the recommended interval for cam belt replacement for the above car, and the general consensus is 60,000 miles. The inline mounted 2.0T FSI engine is driven by a timing belt system which links the cylinder head, camshafts, and crankshaft to run in sync. This Audi A3 TT timing belt system consists of a wear resistant, high strength, corded/molded rubber timing belt (a.k.a. Audi A3 TT toothed belt). Ihave a 2010 Audi A4 avant.. I believe the timing belt has slipped but not sure. the car was in the garage for a seperate issue, broken suspension spring and the garage left a light on over night.
